Clear rules for students, teachers and school staff using the Learnable Platform
For students
Your school or teacher has arranged your access to Learnable. These rules explain how to use it safely and respectfully. They do not require you to buy the service or enter into a paid subscription.

1. Who these rules apply to
1.1 These rules apply to every student, teacher and school staff member who uses the Learnable Platform.
1.2 Learnable is designed for secondary students in Years 7 to 12 and the teachers and staff who support them.
1.3 Students may use Learnable only through a school or authorised teacher. Students do not purchase a Learnable licence.
1.4 By using Learnable, you agree to follow these rules and reasonable instructions from your school, teacher and Learnable about safe and secure use.
2. Your account
2.1 Use only the account created or authorised for you.
2.2 Keep your password and sign-in details private.
2.3 Do not allow another person to use your account.
2.4 Tell your teacher or school promptly if you think someone has accessed your account.
2.5 Do not try to access another person’s work, another class, another school or a restricted part of the platform.
3. Use Learnable for learning
3.1 Use Learnable for authorised educational activities.
3.2 Follow reasonable instructions given by your teacher or school.
3.3 Complete and submit your own work unless collaboration is allowed.
3.4 Use classroom materials only in the ways Learnable and your school permit.
3.5 Do not copy, sell, publish or distribute substantial parts of Learnable content outside authorised school use.
4. Be respectful and safe
4.1 Do not harass, bully, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone.
4.2 Do not impersonate another person or deliberately misrepresent who you are.
4.3 Do not upload or submit unlawful, seriously harmful or deliberately offensive content.
4.4 Do not try to disrupt the platform, introduce malicious code, overload systems or bypass security controls.
4.5 Do not use Learnable in a way that creates an unreasonable risk to another person’s privacy, safety or rights.
5. Your work and other people’s work
5.1 Learnable does not take ownership of work or materials you create and submit. You, your teacher or your school keep whatever rights they already have in those materials.
5.2 Learnable may process submitted materials only as needed to provide, secure and support the service under its agreement with the customer and as explained in the Privacy Policy.
5.3 Do not upload or submit material unless you created it, have permission to use it or are otherwise allowed to use it for school learning.
5.4 Respect copyright, confidentiality and the privacy of other people.
6. Protect personal information
6.1 Do not put telephone numbers, private email addresses, home addresses, passwords or government identifiers into a learning response.
6.2 Do not include health information or other sensitive personal details unless your teacher has specifically asked for them for an authorised learning purpose.
6.3 Do not share another person’s personal information without permission.
6.4 Ask your teacher if you are unsure whether information should be included in a response.
7. Using AI marking safely
7.1 Some eligible written responses may be marked using AI against a predefined Learnable rubric. The AI is not a chatbot and may make mistakes.
7.2 Follow the on-screen privacy and safety instructions and do not include unnecessary personal or sensitive information in your response.
7.3 You can select thumbs up or thumbs down to give feedback. This does not automatically change your mark.
7.4 Ask your teacher to review a result you think is wrong. Your teacher can override an AI-generated mark.

8. Reporting a concern
Students should tell a teacher, parent, guardian or another trusted adult if they notice a privacy, security, safety or content concern.
Teachers and school staff can report technical faults, security concerns, privacy requests and child-safety concerns through Learnable’s published support channels. Privacy concerns may be sent to legal@learnable.education.
In an emergency or where someone may be in immediate danger, contact the school and the appropriate emergency service rather than relying on Learnable support.
9. What happens if these rules are not followed
9.1 A school or Learnable may restrict an affected account or function where reasonably necessary to protect users, the school, the platform or the law.
9.2 Where practicable, the action will be limited to the affected account or function and the school will be told the reason.
9.3 Learnable will usually notify the school before permanently closing an account and, where reasonably practicable, provide an opportunity to address a remediable issue.
9.4 Immediate action may be taken where required by law, requested by the school, or reasonably necessary to protect users or the platform, prevent serious misuse or address an urgent security or safety risk. The school will be told as soon as reasonably practicable afterwards.
10. Privacy and help
Learnable’s Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, why it is used, who may receive it, where it is processed and how to request access or correction.
Students and families should normally contact the school first about student information. Learnable will assist the school.

11. Changes to these rules
Learnable may update these rules when the service or law changes. The school or customer will be notified of material changes and should make the updated rules available to users.
